Memorable Italian adventures are made through language, culture, cuisine, art, music and more.  Camps are available for children ages 3 – to 12 – years-old.   Camps are tailored to the age and language experience of the children; although, no prior Italian language experience is necessary.

2016 Summer Camp Series 

First Kicks Soccer Camp (Primi Calci al Pallone):  First Kicks provides an active, outdoor experience that introduces children to basic soccer skills and Italian language. Boys and girls will learn to pass, shoot, dribble and control the ball as they gain valuable ball-handling skills and increased coordination. Campers will also learn simple Italian words related to soccer and hear stories about the Italian cities where soccer teams play in an exciting, synergistic approach among player, coach and teacher.

Princess and Cavalier Camp (Principesse e Cavalieri): Step into an enchanting world where princesses reign and brave cavaliers save the day in a very special, Italian kingdom. This captivating camp comes to life each day with a new story line and adventure to learn about and then experience through acting, playing and creating theme-specific crafts. Princess and Cavalier camp is ideal for little boys and girls who wish to live a real story.

The Joy of Cooking (La Gioia della Cucina): Get ready to embark on a journey of Italian cuisine with Maestra Pina. Together the class will explore different Italian regions through its tasty food, starting with creamy polenta from the North to the well renowned Italian pizza from the South. Cooking projects also include a traditional Italian dessert. Activities sprinkled throughout the camp include walking excursions to local sites and picnics in the park!

Summer Sing Along Camp (Un’estate da Cantare Insieme):  Let native Italian teacher and musician, Pina Di Rosa, take your children on a memorable, musical journey as she shares her favorite classic Italian children’s songs. Campers will sing, dance, and play simple instruments as they savor the sweet sounds and memorable melodies of Italian music. Children will also visit a nearby park to play in the fountain (weather permitted) and make music-themed crafts and food dishes.

Camp Details
Camps are held Monday through Friday at Friendly House in the Pearl, 1542 NW 14th Ave Portland, OR 97209.  Camps are available for children ages 3- to 12- years-old.

All camps include an awesome, one-of-a-kind camp t-shirt designed by the winner of our annual summer camp t-shirt contest.  Full payment is required prior to the start of camp.  Please have your child bring a lunch and snacks each day.

Looking for an afternoon camp?  Groups with four or more children may request alternate camp times. 

Scuola Italiana does require a minimum of four registered campers to hold a summer camp.
