PURPOSE: This position supervises administrative staff and oversees management of daily school operations. Works closely with administrative staff, teachers, and board members to ensure that programs are operating efficiently, effectively and within school guidelines. Assesses and adapts procedures, policies and administrative systems to streamline operations. Promotes camps, classes, events and other school activities. Develops advertising and marketing materials and oversees distribution. Works with administrative team to hire and orient new employees. Actively fundraises for school programs. Reports to board.
Part-time position works from and maintains a well-organized home office. Attends board meetings. Organizes regular staff meetings. Provides event and other administrative supervision and support, as required.
Maintains and updates policies and procedures that ensure all aspects of school operations are effective and efficient. This includes safeguarding that home office data is accurately tracked, processed, utilized, and stored.
Works with teachers, staff, and board to coordinate school operations and to ensure that classes, camps, meetups, and other activities are operating according to policy and procedure and meeting operational costs. Maintains school compliance.
Serves as main school contact. Effectively communicates school’s mission, programs and goals. Seeks to strengthen and develop partnerships and to build a strong school community and network of supporters.
Works with administrative staff to preserve database integrity, to develop annual school program and event calendar, and to successfully market and promote all school programs and activities.
Provides employee orientations, processes new hire paperwork, including background checks and CPR certifications.
Works with bookkeeper and registrars to draft payment schedules and contracts for preschool and other children’s class families, as needed.
Attends board meetings and provides school updates; assists board president with correspondence, board tasks, and projects, as requested.
Maintains website content including registration system and web calendar.
Creates advertising and marketing materials for all media forms including, but not limited to print, online, web, newsletter, press release, social media accounts, etc.
Collaborates to develop and grow fundraising activities; recruits event volunteers.

Associate’s degree plus two years of administrative experience; or any satisfactory combination of experience and training which demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the above duties.
Requires word processing, spreadsheet, and typing skills; must be able to do data entry with a high degree of accuracy.
Able to multi-task and work independently to meet goals and deadlines, and be detail oriented.
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to sit, communicate, reach and manipulate objects, tools or controls.
Duties may involve moving materials weighing up to 10 pounds on an occasional basis.
Manual dexterity and coordination are required over 50% of the work period while operating equipment such as computer keyboard, mouse, and other office machines.
