This class is primarily taught in the English language, but will include some Italian language vocabulary related to the subject matter.  The course is taught by Dominique Doré.

Dominique was born in Santa Barbara and raised on the family-owned Rancho Tinaquaic established in 1837 where her family has had the Foxen Winery since 1985. She spent her first years traveling the back roads of Italy, France and Spain with her family and then returned to live in Italy during her teen years. Dominique went on to graduate with honors in Italian Literature from University of California, Santa Cruz and move back to Rome for an additional five years to work as a translator and language trainer. Further to her upbringing on a winery, Dominique worked for ten years in key positions for seminal Italian Importers: Villa Italia, Vinifera and Oliver McCrum. She has also done stints at Flowers and Foxen. Before coming to work at La Scuola Italiana, she completed her Masters in Italian Literature from San Francisco State University with a 3.8 GPA. She is also a certified Wine Educator with Merit through WSET and a founding member of the first Slow Food Chapter in the United States.
