PORTLAND, OREGON January 22, 2015– Each February Scuola Italiana di Portland holds a community wide costume party to observe Festa di Carnevale, a popular Italian holiday celebrated throughout Italy for hundreds of years.  The popular celebration has evolved into two separate events over the past ten years and now includes both an afternoon children’s party for families and an evening event for adult supporters.

Festa di Carnevale for Kids! is on Sunday, February 22nd from 3:00 – 6:00 PM at Valley Catholic Elementary School in Beaverton. This super-sized costume party is $15 per child, two and older, and includes carnival games, a clown show, face painting, a treasure hunt and much, much more.  Authentic Italian desserts by Cook with Grazia will be served. Adults are free.

Festa di Carnevale for Adults is on Friday, February 27th from 7:00 – 10:00 PM at Caffe Umbria in the Pearl District.  Admission is $25 per guest.  The celebration includes hors d’oeuvres, a live Dj & dancing, and a silent auction filled with lots of items from local hot spots. Costumes are optional for this event, but certainly make it even more festive!
